Every brain injury or neurological disease is unique. The impact it has on you will depend on your past experiences, family support and the environment you live in. It is important for me to understand this wider picture, your personality, values and aspirations. This enables us to set realistic and meaningful goals together.

Evidence-based
Repetition of movement and intensity of exercise practice are essential to promote neuroplasticity (the brains ability to change and reorganise). This process aids motor (movement) recovery to bring about changes in functional abilities such as being able to stand up from a chair, or walk in or outdoors. My approach is based on these evidence-based rehabilitation principles together with the personality of the person I am treating.

Holistic
Physical recovery may be influenced by cognitive changes following a brain injury or neurological disease, such as changes in emotions, personality, behaviour and thinking skills. Having worked closely with other therapy disciplines for many years, I have extensive experience of modifying my treatment approach to accommodate these changes. A creative approach is sometimes required to maximise physical and functional improvements in the home environment.
